Coverage is thin outside the first few towns and will stay that way until enough businesses have joined. Listing a reward takes about ten minutes and costs nothing.

The businesses taking part
Independent places, each with their own page and their own offers. Tokens are spent at the counter, so the list is the map of where a balance is worth something.
Redeeming
Show the code, and that is the transaction
Redemption is deliberately old-fashioned. You claim the reward in the app, show what it gives you at the counter, and somebody marks it as used. There is no card to tap, no account to open with the business, and nothing about you passed to them.
Claim it in the app
The terms the business set are shown before you confirm: the days and hours it is valid, and anything it cannot be combined with. Confirming takes the tokens out of your balance there and then.
Show the code at the counter
You are given a short code and a QR code for the same claim. Either works at the counter, both stop working the moment one is accepted, and the claim lasts ninety days, so there is no rush to get to the shop.
The business marks it used
Staff scan the QR code or type the short code, in the Zenera app on their phone or on a web page, and the claim is closed. No card or account of yours is involved.
If a valid code is refused
Tell us which business it was and roughly when, at support@zenera.app, and we will put the tokens back. A code that has already expired is at the business’s discretion, so it is worth asking rather than assuming.
Codes expire in minutes. A redemption code is single use, tied to your account and short-lived by design, so a screenshot of one is worth nothing to anybody else. Generate a fresh one if the first has lapsed.
Tokens expire in twelve months. A balance lasts as long as you keep using the app: tokens lapse only after twelve consecutive months with no completed session, and you are warned before that happens. They are points, not money, as set out in the terms of use.
If you run one of these places
A reward is only worth earning if there is somewhere nearby to spend it, so the catalogue grows one independent business at a time. If students or remote workers already sit in yours for hours, a listing takes about ten minutes to arrange.
